      Inspect for adequate chest rise, acessory muscle function, flail thoracic segment(s), tripod position

      Palpate
      Palpate for broken bones

      Auscultate
      Auscultate lung sounds at base of lungs

      Signs of shock.

      Apply dressing and bandage to wounds.
