Scene Size-Up

1. Take or verbalizes body substance precautions
   "Do I have adequate BSI?"
2. Determine that the scene is safe
   "Is the scene safe?"
3. Determine the mechanism of injury / nature of illness
   "MOI / NOI identifed?"
4. Determine need for additional resources
   "Are additional resources necessary?"
5. Note: Spinal stabilization is part of initial assessment.
